Summary/Abstract: This carefully prepared report presents briefly the problem of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) and the role of a speech-language pathologist in multi-specialist rehabilitation of ALS patients. ALS, as a degenerative disease, poses a difficult task for speech-language pathologists. Their main aim is to maintain the current functional communication for as long as possible. The article contains the suggestions for speech-language therapies for people who suffer from ALS.
