Summary/Abstract: Review of a book by Tomasz Kunz entitled Strategie negatywne w poezji Tadeusza Różewicza. Od poetyki tekstu do poetyki lektury, [‘Negative strategies in Tadeusz Różewicz’s poetry. A poetics of the text into a poetics of the reading’] (Universitas publishers, Cracow 2005). T. Kunz’s book is an authoritative analysis of certain specific characteristics of Różewicz’s poetics. The author’s juxtaposes the existing extensive literature on the subject against the most recent readings of the Polish poet’s works and relevant literary-theoretical currents. A juxtaposition of this sort enables one to view the ‘canonical’ readings of the Różewicz oeuvre from a different perspective. As the book’s reviewer and interpreter of the poet’s oeuvre in one, Ms. Ubertowska has pointed out to certain difficulties occurring when it comes to describe the poet’s output from the poetics’ standpoint alone.
