Notes on the Istroromanian Etymology

Summary/Abstract: In this article the author suggests some new etymologies for a number of words to which Petru Neiescu, in his recently published ‘Dictionary of the Istroromanian Dialect’ didn’t find any, and also provides some new etymologies, different from those of P. Neiescu, for other words. The last part of this article brings into discussion some words of Latin origin that survived in the Istroromanian vocabulary, and which escaped the linguists until now, or were present in other dialects from Istria.
