Summary/Abstract: In this article an extension of the expression analytic form (periphrasis) is presented. The author deals with the structure and functioning of the analytic vs synthetic grammatical constructions in Slavic languages. The role of the pragmatics and systemic factors is demonstrated on the example of the generic and referential possession. The role of the possessive genitive vs possessive adjective in Czech, Polish and Russian is compared.
