Summary/Abstract: The article analyses quotations from the Book of Psalms in the Czech Church Slavonic translation of Forty Gospel Homilies of St. Gregory the Great that is supposed to be done in Přemyslide Bohemia in the 2nd half of the 11th century and has existed in subsequent Russian copies since the 13th century. The author has compared particular quotations with the reading of the oldest version of Slavonic translation of the Book of Psalms with the consideration to Greek and Latin text variants and he has come to the conclusion that the Psalm quotations were translated from Latin original and that from the textological point of view followed the text version preserved in Latin original of Forty Gospel Homilies of St. Gregory the Great. It is quite evident that the lexicon of the examined quotations contains some lexemes identical with those in the Old Church Slavonic translation of the Book of Psalms.
