Summary/Abstract: Book review: Tomasz Bocheński, Czarny humor w twórczości Witkacego, Gombrowicza, Schulza. Lata trzydzieste [‘Black humour in the output of Witkacy, Gombrowicz, Schulz. The Thirties Decade’], Cracow 2005. The author polemicises with Bocheński’s thesis interpreting the black humour present in Witkacy’s, W. Gombrowicz’s, and B. Schulz’s prose works as a manifestation of longing for a metaphysical order. The reviewer identifies a different group of inspirations: A. Jarry’s and surrealists’ writings, pataphysical manifestos.
