Dialogue As an Exponent of Fiction

Summary/Abstract: The text attempts at analysing narrative phenomena in our contemporary prose works in light of the fiction exponents theory. One phenomenon deemed feasible and natural in fiction only is true quotation of dialogues that occurred in a significant temporal distance from the moment of being uttered. This also applies to autodiegetic narrative. Most examples of textual strategies related to this phenomenon come from Polish self-fiction works (Huelle, Chwin, Dichter), that is, borderline, hybrid texts thematising the interplay between fabrication and reference.
