Summary/Abstract: The meeting between N.S. Khrushchev and Josip Broz Tito, the Yugoslav communist leader, was held in the context of important developments in Eastern Europe in the first half of 1964 primarily in Romania. Both communist leaders have highlighted during the dialogue, the importance of the relationship with the Romanian Workers Party and it is evident from the discussions, the special interest for Romania and its desire for independence and close relations with People's Republic of China. During the official talks, Khrushchev and Tito also discussed the relations with the People's Republic of China, at a time when the USSR needed support in the political and ideological dispute between Moscow and Beijing. The article presents excerpts from the minutes of the discussions between N.S. Khrushchev and Josip Broz Tito in Leningrad in June 8, 1964.
