Summary/Abstract: This paper examines a relationship of the legislature and the executive in Presidential System of the United Sates. In the introductory part, the principle of separation of powers, which represents the foundation of American presidentialism, was analyzed. Subsequently, the overview of the Constitution, its structure and election of central political institutions is provided with a view to raising questions that concern the relationship between the President and Congress. In the end, it is concluded that the legislature and the executive, irrespective of their principle differences, are in position to harmonize their actions for the sake of nation’s well-being.
