Material situation of households in the conditions of a crisis. An example of poviat-ranking towns in Wielkopolska

Summary/Abstract: This paper seeks to analyse the material situation of households in 2013 and to identify the effect of the current crisis on this situation in the years 2009–2013. The research embraced households located in the poviat-ranking towns of Wielkopolska: Poznań, Kalisz, Leszno, and Konin (urban poviats). The households were examined in terms of changes in the level and structure of incomes as well as running and investment expenses they had in the days of the crisis. The sample analysed consisted of a total of 715 households, of which 389 came from Poznań, 147 from Kalisz, 108 from Konin, and 71 from Leszno.
