Summary/Abstract: Radenko Mišević worked as a professor of the Academy of Fine Arts in Sarajevo since its very establishment. He founded and taught Theory of Form and continued to teach this subject, under a modified title - the Form of Visual Arts – for a number of years, thus developing, as he put it himself, “a new type of positive aesthetics”. In terms of motives, Radenko Mišević focused his creative work on the themes related to his homeland, the themes that carried in themselves the scent of Bosnia, the story-teller’s Bosnia, as Isidora Sekulić wrote it once, even in cases when iconographic structure of his paintings excluded narrative content and when they aspired, instead, to reduction and abstraction. Mišević’s openness to the challenges brought about by the new media, particularly by the techno-images of film, had its share in the birth of cinematography in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
