Summary/Abstract: Credibility of partner transactions or services provided through the Internet, is an important factor for the further development of the Internet economy. This concerns the development of online insurance. Therefore, the ability to evaluate the credibility of web sites becomes an important tool in the competition in the insurance market. The aim of this article is to present the results of the assessment of the credibility of web sites of selected insurers operating in Poland. The article shows that the criteria for assessing the credibility of websites can be assigned to three dimensions: the ability of the service to ensure the reliability, kindness of designers, developers and administrators of service in guaranteeing the credibility and integrity of the site owners. Such a set of criteria was used to assess the reliability of the websites of insurance companies in Poland. Studies have shown that among the 26 selected sites, Internet service of Aviva insurance company proved to be the most reliable, and Postal Service TUW the least credible one.
