Summary/Abstract: There have been many discussions on the existence of materials dated back to early Hallstatt in the Noua – Coslogeni settlements, and of the existence of the Noua – Coslogeni type of items in Babadag settlements. Following archaeological research at Siliştea – “Conac” and Siliştea – “Popină” and the discovery of Noua – Coslogeni items in these early Hallstatt settlements, one can establish two types of connections between these cultural manifestations: a) the late Noua – Coslogeni settlements continue their existence along the Danube, in the Călăraşi – Ialomiţa area, while the first Hallstatt settlements appear in the counties of Brăila, Tulcea and Galaţi. b) the Babadag culture assimilates the Noua – Coslogeni culture in Braila Plain.
