Summary/Abstract: A word which can be uttered or written, given orally or in writing, is a basic carrier of the Good News. Particularly during the patristic period the idea of written kerygma was developed, which played a significant role during the presecutions, when a written tradition was also reaching the environments hostile to Christianity, unavailable to proponents of the Word of God. The idea of this kerygma was also cultivated in the subsequent centuries of the Church history and played a leading role in promoting the tradition of the Revealed teaching. The contemporary homilists who decide to record their homilies in writing have a possibility to spread the kerygma of the Good News which will also last for centuries. Correctly and accurately prepared written kerygma can become commonly available and universal in respect of geography and history.
