Summary/Abstract: The article presents two unpublished autographs and seven unpublished marginal notes from the second half of the 18th and the first three decades of the 19th centuries, which are conserved in the personal archive of Dimitar Rizov kept in the Central state archive in Sofia. The marginal notes were written by Bulgarian monks from the orthodox Rila monastery – one of the most important manuscript centres in Bulgarian lands during the period of Ottoman domination (15th–19th c.). The autographs belong to bishop Seraphim Dobrobosnenski (? – died с. 1800) – formerly abbot of the Rila monastery between 1754–1757 under the name of “Seraphion”. The other marginal notes were written by monks from the Rila monastery: Ierothei, Theodosius ( ? – died 1809), formerly abbot of the monastery (1798–1801 and 1805), Joseph „the Builder” (probably 1766–1859/1860), abbot and holder of other offices in 1822, 1828, 1837–1839 and 1842–1860, and others unnamed writers. In these marginal notes events from the history of the Rila monastery, the Bulgarians and the Balkans are recorded which took place during the Russian-Turkish wars of 1768–1774 and 1828–1829, the Greek uprising in 1821 etc.
