Summary/Abstract: The work of more renowned (Hans Richter, Oskar Fischinger, Lotte Reiniger) as well as of less popular (Viking Eggeling, Julius Pinschewer, Hans Fischerkoesen) authors is under consideration. Some of the most significant experimental abstract films, technical and artistic specifics of silhouette animations by Lotte Reiniger and of animated works made under the Third Reich are examined.
