Summary/Abstract: The paper presents proximity determinations widely used in home and international technical literature focusing on those proximity dimensions, that play significant role in the knowledge-based economy. Authors study knowledge transfer processes between companies located in the Győr agglomeration. In recent years several studies dealt with impact-assessment of the vehicle industry, from which mention must be made of the TÁMOP-4.2.2.A-11/1/KONV-2012-0010 project titled „Győr Vehicle Industrial District, as new direction and tool for spatial development”. The empirical database of this research that ended in 2014 serves as base for the present study, to underline and analyze those factors, that influence contacts between companies in the region and knowledge transfer
