Summary/Abstract: In the article Brest wedding folklore, which depicts the most representative image of the bride is analyzed. It is concluded that the interpretation of the bride as a stranger, “non-human” receives both positive and negative evaluation. This is due to the fact that one attributes to the bride magical power of polar orientation and features that make her dangerous, hostile and at the same time wonderful, fetal and rich.
