Summary/Abstract: The authors show the general social and economic state of the small regions in Békés county. Characteristics: poor local economy, low ability to produce income, high rate of unemployment, decrease of population, poverty. They point out the problems of employment and earning income. Then they investigate the local activities organised in the public work program.Last they list the joint characteristics of these activities.
