Polish niesamowity and Ukrainian несамовитий. A Parallel Innovation or a Borrowing?

Summary/Abstract: In the article the etymology and history of a Polish – East Slavonic lexical parallel niesamowity (Polish), nesamowytyj (Ukrainian), n´esamavity (Belorussian) as well as Russian dialect n´epovityj is presented. The trial the author has undertaken here is different from typical explanations *nesamovitьjь < *ne-samo-vitьjь, assumed among other things by the authors of the 4th volume of the Etymological Dictionary of Ukrainian (Етимологічний словник української мови).
