Potential and effectiveness of farms production factors – Poland in relation to the European Union in the light of FADS

Summary/Abstract: The aim of this 3tudy was to assess the potential and efficiency of production factors on Polish farms in comparison with EU farms. Also, the intensity of production, value of production, and the share of subsidies in the income of the family farm were analyzed. The source of data was information from FADN farms accounting in 2010—2011. The production capacity of farms in Poland, which are of interest to the FADN, were less favorable than the EU average. The efficiency* of production factors of Polish farms was also lower. An average Polish household was characterized by lower productivity of land, labor and capital, and profitability of land and labor. The income from the family farm obtained from l hectare was about 10% lower and the income from the family farm in terms of 1 FWU more than 50% lower than the EU average. Only the income of the family farm at 100 euros in assets was 17.5% higher. The share of the balance ofsubsidies and taxes on income from the family farm was also 9.4% lower man the EU average.
