Summary/Abstract: The article presents the results of analysis regarding defining networking characteristics of employees and methods of their assessment. Scientific literature identifies four studies devoted to networking in management, in which a part or whole of them are dedicated to networking characteristics of employees. The authors of these studies defined, operationalized as well examined networking from different perspectives. Common methods were questionnaires, tested for reliability, but not always validity. Questionnaires or surveys were most often used for self-assessment of working people, employees. The properties of the employees networking were described as behaviors, qualifications, qualities, resources and competences. Network competence of employees pointed out by Wolff and Moser are closest to the definition of competence, though their method of assessment is not typical for competences’ assessment. Hence, the author formulates a proposal to develop a tool for network competences’ of employees understanding them as activities aimed at establishing and maintaining social relations, personally and remotely, which are important for actual and prospect work.
