The Role of Cyber Security in the Development of Modern Societies

Summary/Abstract: Modern societies have become irreversibly dependent on information and communication technologies. Unfortunately, besides the numerous advantages which new technologies have brought, their increased adoption has been accompanied by the development of a series of cyber threats that have developed in an increasingly rapid, more sophisticated and vicious way. Cyber threats have become one of the largest global problems of today. This paper presents the concept, place and role of cyber security in the development of modern societies.
