Summary/Abstract: Focalization and narrator are components of narratology. According to the literary theorist J.Culler, the theory of narrative (narratology) relies on theories of narrative structure: on notions of plot, different kinds of narrators and focalizers, and narrative techniques. It is the poetics of narrative, attempt to understand the components of narrative, and analysis of how particular narratives achieve their effects.
