Summary/Abstract: Comparative analysis of Latvian, russian, belorussian, polish songs about hostile relations between the husband and the wife offending the young wife and her defender – brother is represented with special interest also for research etno.psychology of named (peoples) tationalites, and for a technique of folkloristic comparisons. The main difference in Latvian and west.slavic songs consists in of brother –defender in bad attitude of the husband to the young wife. In the Latvian songs brother immediate is going to teach (show) a good lesson with his sword of (a/the)torture and does not realize his theat, because than there will be none who will feed the sister. The russian brother does not also think of bloody massacre. On the contrary he persuades the sister to accept it and be pacient. you see, it cant’t be so, that husband does not beat this wife. In polish songs the husband apologises and swears not offend the wife any more.
