Rural Redevelopment through Tourism and Leisure

Summary/Abstract: Redevelopment is a process of spatial, engineering, construction, architectural, social and economic transformations. Rural redevelopment is meant to bring the village back to life; the village which due to social and political changes lost its former social function while quite often came to a standstill economically corrupted. Action aimed at redevelopment should enliven and stimulate local communities so that the social and economic potential is restored. It is then important that a given rural area be identified as regards its chance to develop its devastated and waste facilities and land for tourism and leisure. The scope of development apart from the natural assets and interconnections between nature and business should also account for cultural aspects, local community entrepreneurship, specialist knowledge, type and amount of capital. Hence, while researching opportunities for redevelopments in tourism and leisure, three paradigms should be focused on: economic, cultural and natural. A perspective local area development plan should also account for demographic conditions.
