Summary/Abstract: The paper presents the life, work and doctrine of the known mutesavvif (dervish, sufi) Aḥmad al-Ġazzālī. In fact, it has been made a sort of reconstruction of his life, considering that such works are extremely rare. This method has also been used in presenting the basic emphasis of histeaching. An exhaustive study of the doctrine of the Aḥmada al-Ġazzālī Imam would involve a much broader framework, therefore we decided to briefly introduce only three of his ideas: conception of love, acceptance of listening adequate spirited melodies (samā‘) as a means of reaching the state of true spiritual rapture (wagdi), and understanding of the problem of theodicy.
