Summary/Abstract: Ahmad Ghazali is one of the most important figures in the 5th century AD. Although he made a significant contribution to Persian literature andgnosis, his personality is not presented as befits his literary-Gnostic opus. Numerous works have been left behind Ahmad Ghazali, but al-Savanehošāq work is distinguished for its distinctive uniqueness. It is the core and essence of the thought system of Ahmad Ghazali. This work contains all of Ahmad Ghazali’s unified views on love and its various states. The prose of Savāneh (Sawāneḥ) “touches” with poetry in many instances and it is interwoven with poetic emotions and imaginations. Each row of the book testifies to the author’s ecstasy, elation and intoxication, to his many years of experience on the path of tarikat (Tariqa). He doesn’t only deal with issues of love and gnosis, but also shows exceptional competence when it comes to psychological and mental states of the man. On the importance of Savāneh, it is enough to say that this work has left a significant impact on all subsequent works that dealt with similar themes. Although the core topic of the book is love, it also explains many Gnostic realities and terms in a critical and innovative way.
