Summary/Abstract: The article proposed deals with the analysis of a passage from Constantine Kostenechki’s Tale describing the literary activity of Euthymius of Turnovo. The interpretation brings us to the conclusion that the last Patriarch of Turnovo has made a new translation of the Pentateuch. This fact was confirmed also by Gregory Tsamblak in his “Laudatory Speech about Euthymius”. Thus, the idea launched so far about a linguistic-orthographic or some other kind of reform the author of which was Euthymius of Turnovo, does not find any support in the fundamental sources about the “reform” of Euthymius. The article proposed deals with the analysis of a passage from Constantine Kostenechki’s Tale describing the literary activity of Euthymius of Turnovo.
