Summary/Abstract: In this article originally presented at the international forum New generation of democracy and interreligious dialogue – a response to violent extremism in Sarajevo, the author discusses the meaning of Sarajevo declaration issued in December 2015. Joint statement about violent extremism, wherein violent extremism is clearly and strongly condemned, was signed by 37 officials, spiritual and intellectual leaders of Bosniaks. The statement contains the request for a decisive confrontation to all forms of radicalism, violent extremism and terrorism. The issue is presented as local as well as global multi-conditioned phenomenon, complexity of which is often simplified.
