Summary/Abstract: In this interview Dr. Hilmo Neimarlija attempts to present the basic outlines for understanding politics and religion and the mutual relations between the two. Under the current circumstances in Bosnia and Herzegovina these relations have become complex and are often brought down to a very superficial level. Religion becomes a means of manipulations but so does the politics. Both the cases are damaging: to social life – when personal rights and properties are usurped, to religion - when general public is a witness of the misuse of religion in the name of personal prosaic political interests. Dr. Neimarlija here also explains the term "political Islam" that represents the political manipulation with Islam promoted by neo-colonial forces.
