Summary/Abstract: The full description is to be provided when the book has not been previously described, or when existing published descriptions are inadequate. It should correspond to the accepted practice of bibliography in terms of the nature and arrangement of the information it contains, covering, in other words, the physical composition (collation) of the book, signatures, foliation, typographical characteristics and ornamentation. The method of encoding each of these elements is derived from the traditional representation of each in bibliographical description.
