Summary/Abstract: For ages Russia has been building projects which in the 21st century have been repacked again. Two products are being offered at the same time, with two dominating identity concepts. The first is the Orthodox identity. It protects conservative values, defends Kremlin policies, but also does not stay away from the lights of shopping malls, the glamour and consumption joys. The second concept is quite different. On the surface, it seems quite icy and unattractive. But when you get a closer look at the post-Soviet cities, remotely located from Moscow or St Petersburg, you will understand that this second Russia speaks with multiple voices and is very polyphonic.
