Summary/Abstract: Dependence of the investment activities of a company on the degree of availability and reliability of the information is proved by the analysis of emerging markets’ data. Various studies show that the insufficient development of capital markets, stock markets, legislation on the enforcement mechanisms in the fields of innovations and engineering is able to reduce the incentives for companies to disclose their information. The ambiguous effect of information transparency on the investment activities determines the need for a deeper revision of this issue, putting a special emphasis on the methods of quantitative measurement of the level of disclosure.
