Summary/Abstract: This paper provides the results of research on body perception and the gender role of artistically and musically gifted adolescents and pupils. The sample included 111 adolescents (47 male and 64 female), students of a music school, a school of arts and a grammar school, aged 17-19. To investigate body perception we used BDQ (Fisher), BFQ ( Fisher) and to investigate the gender role we employed BSRI (Bem). The results show that the perceived levels of all the assessed dimensions on BDQ (large; small; boundary loss; dirty; blocked /openings; skin; depersonalization) in all three subsamples were slightly below average. It has been shown that adolsecents, independently of their talent, do not have a high degree of sensitivity or awareness of bodily areas. It was also ascertained that boys from diffrent schools do not differ in certan aspects of body perception, while girls differ according to the parameters back and mouth (BFQ). The parameter back was most pronounced in artistically gifted, while the parameter mouth was the most pronounced in the musically gifted girls. Considering the whole sample, boys exhibit a statistically higher level of an- drogyny than girls (p<.05).
