The Short Vita of St Cyril the Philosopher in the Three Manuscripts of the Late 15th Century

Summary/Abstract: Three manuscripts dating from the late 15th century are presented in this study. They are kept in the National Academy of the Ukrainian Library. They all include writings of Old Bulgarian men of letters from the 9th and 10th centuries. In this study special attention is paid to the Vita of St Cyrill the Philosopher. Its full text is published here in accordance with the three copies. These copies are analysed and compared with those published so far. Some considerations are given to the fate of this Vita within the framework of the Old Bulgarian literary tradition.
