Summary/Abstract: This article aims to reveal a specific feature of Bulgarian verses during the first half of the 20th century – Its rituality. Different forms of confessions in verse like spells, prayers and chants are being analysed as well as their transformation from poetry into ritual. Works of P. P. Slaveikov, P. K. Yavorov,Ven Tin, T. Trajanov, L. Stojanov, Em. Popdimitrov, Iv. Grozev, N. Liliev, M.Belcheva and others are reviewed. Different levels of reception from the translated texts of Heine and Goethe are shown.
