Summary/Abstract: The end of the project, which was aiming at using the evaluation in the inspection system for quality improvement of schools, other educational institutions and in the development of the whole educational system, provokes to ask questions about future of this idea. Education today is perceived as a one of the most important condition of the success in contemporary societies. Evaluation, which popularity is systematically growing, might serve as an effective tool for improvement. However, we should be aware that evaluation in education is a specific form of it, demanding different approach. In order to build open, democratic and supportive for development evaluation we need to answer important questions concerning its future developments.
