Summary/Abstract: The notions of eccentricity, respectively of eccentric cannot be conceived in an absolute way or described once and for all, that is why the analysis of their significations enforces us to open a wider research field which cannot overlook the 19th century ideological, historical, philosophical, religious and literary content, in which these concepts are born and enrich with new meanings. These notions cannot be described a priori, as they are not at all arbitrary or have general senses; they are not analysis instruments outside the text, but remain flexible depending on the articulating energy of the writing and sense productivity. Though, even if these terms do not behave as theoretical artefacts, an attempt to approach them from a theoretical perspective is, in a first stage, very useful.
