Summary/Abstract: The main purpose of this paper is to determine the relevance of advices that are given to children by their parents on their development. The author assumed that these types of messages might have a diagnostic value, because it may not only show the direction in which – according to the mothers or fathers – their child should follow, but also contain a set of practical tips which help achieve this goal. The parental advices may also be a source of knowledge about the quality of family relations and upbringing style that is used in a particular household. They can also indicate a lack of mutual contact. Making such an insight into the parental advices can be done by means of the tools provided by the transactional analysis which will also be presented in this text by the analysis of collected research material.
