Summary/Abstract: The works of the Bulgarian monk Athanasius of Jerusalem have not been subjected yet to detailed analysis by the Bulgarian scholars in medieval and Slavonic literature. His most popular work is „An epistle to Panko“, the shortened version of which has already undergone many editions. In this article I have attempted to ascribe to Athanasius of Jerusalem the authorship of several canonical rules bearing his name in some of the manuscripts. The themes they treat are viewed in the context of the Bulgarian literature from the end of the 10th and the beginning of the 11th centuries and the heretic concepts of the Bulgarian Bogomils.
