Summary/Abstract: The article concerns the unique profile, longevity and nature of topics of the International Biennial of Humor and Satire in Arts – Gabrovo. It emphasizes its special features incarnated in laughter, humor, satire, irony and their social, cultural and philosophic dimensions. A special attention is paid to the collecting and research activities of the House of Humor and Satire Museum which is the creative and organizational engine of the Gabrovo Biennial. The museum rich archive resources and its exhibition activity in the area of fine arts have established the Museum and its Biennial as a unique cultural centre both at national and at international level. The main focus in the article is put on the poster section of the International Biennial. The eminent Bulgarian and international artists who have participated in the different editions are mentioned and studied. There is a special attention to the laureates, the juries and the rest of persons whose posters have contributed to the modernization and the popularization of the forum all over the world. There is also a focus on the organizational practices, traditions and the concomitant poster exhibitions in the halls of the House of Humor and Satire. Their regularity concentrates an important exchange of events, activities and meetings of different artists that establish Gabrovo as one of the most attractive and original artistic destination in the Bulgarian and international poster art.
