Corporate social responsibility (CSR) on the example of cooperative banks

Summary/Abstract: The paper analyzes the size and scope of the social activities carried out by cooperative banks in the years 2009–2013. Study included 50 cooperative banks operating in Poland. The study showed that during the research cooperative banks led to a significant pro-social activities for local communities range and this activity in 2011–2012 was limited due to the effects of the financial crisis. In addition, studies have shown that cooperative banks to a large extent support the functioning of local communities, as indicated by a huge range of local initiatives funded from the efforts of education, culture through sports and religious organizations.
