Summary/Abstract: Viorel Marineasa's short prose “Correspondences, essays, silence” is defined by an exacerbated ability to encompass heterogeneous elements between the "limits" of a text. After all, "Limits" are extremely flexible as the postmodernist text relies on discontinuity, cinematic technique, relativism and deconstruction. The writing registry is ironic; the author deconstructs literary clichés and themes such as: love, family, school, everyday life, human behavior and also traditional prosody. Moreover, he appeals to language games, critical spirit, textualism, intertextuality, orality and a new author-reader relationship. His work is made of fragments, diary notes - a collage of themes and styles of various literary trends or different levels of language. All these – “embellished” with subtle hints to the dictatorial regime in Romania.
