Summary/Abstract: In the Romanian literature there are two great poems about the wedding, a major event in the people’s life. These poems are “Calin ( pages of a story)” of Mihai Eminescu and “Nunta Zamfirei” ( Zamphira’s Wedding) of George Cosbuc. The present work is intending to depict simultaneously the ritual’s elements of the Romanian wedding. They appear in these two literary works starting with its protagonists and ending with the rich feast of the “saint beginning day”, as the poet Ion Barbu used to call the wedding.
