Summary/Abstract: The article discusses new legal provisions on concentration of civil procedure and on introduction of preliminary hearing thereto (I). The same issue is dealt with in connection with specific procedure under Part V of the Code of Civil Procedure (II). In both cases, the objective of these new legal provisions, effective as of July 2009, is to speed up and rationalize the court proceedings. As of now, parties in civil proceedings may put forward decisive facts and propose evidence only during the preliminary hearing. If there is no preliminary hearing, they may do so only before the end of the first hearing in the matter.
