Summary/Abstract: Archaeological research at Dămăroaia in 2013 revealed two rectangular shaped dwellings from the VI-VIIth centuries A.D. The location of ovens in the northeast corner of the houses is typical for this period. The filling in ovens consists of potsherds and a large amount of clay-baked rolls. The context of these finds indicates a continuous use of clay-baked rolls for long-term storage of heat. It is suggested that clay-baked rolls were stored temporarily in the ovens to prevent their collapse when they are not used.
