PROCESSES OF REGIONALIZATION VERSUS PHENOMENA OF GLOBALIZATION

Summary/Abstract: The article presents an analysis of the nature of processes of regionalization, viewed in the context of phenomena of globalization and cultural universalization, in particular. The processes of regionalization are one of the basic forms of territorial integration of culture groups, starting with the earliest stages of social consolidation, political unification, economic standardization and linguistic-religious homogeneity, while finishing with appearance of pluralistic inter-cultural regions. The subject is found in Prof. Jan Szczepański’s area of research, whose works regard the issues of cultural identity, mechanisms of their formation and development, processes of cultural universalization.
