Summary/Abstract: Sexual abuse is not an issue which one may stay indifferent to. Unfortunately, its “fabric” is so delicate and its nature so complex that it still remains a taboo in almost every society. However, this experience, undoubtedly shameful and terribly traumatic for the victims, cannot be handled if passed over in silence. Any researcher involved in this issue is particularly interested in the following question: what happens in the life of victims, unknown to anybody and sexually abused in their childhood, to those who did not have the chance to receive support and help from others? This first question brings a number of ensuing ones. Could victims count on the support from institutions and their family? And, most of all, could they speak up about their experience? Now, this issue has been analyzed through Internet fora, among all: www.nerwica.pl, www.psychiatria.pl/formum.molestowanie-w-dzieciństwie, www.survivos.pl, which also open ways for reaching unknown victims of sexual abuse in the childhood. The participants of the fora have been asked to consent to an interview on sexual abuse. The results gathered have become the basis for the analysis discussed in the paper. Child sexual abuse is a sensitive topic, but undoubtedly an important one and worth of debate. What is more, victims, most often left for themselves, should receive help. Sexual abuse breaches the erogenic sphere of the child and causes a number of irreversible consequences in the victim’s life. When growing up, victims start to realize the nature of their experience and progressively understand the harm which they suffered. However, they are often convinced that nothing more can be done. Many adult victims of sexual abuse in the childhood have been suffering from mental disorders and complain about experiencing physical and social difficulties, and, most of all sexual difficulties for the whole of their life.
