Summary/Abstract: The paper analyses the issue of translating cohesive constructions from French into Romanian in literary texts. Although at a first sight the translation of these elements should not raise any difficulty, the comparative analysis of the original and of the various translations shows that it is a level where the translator intervenes more than often, such practice having important consequences on a pragmatic and narrative level. The corpus of study is constituted by a selection of examples from Jules Verne’s Round the World in 80 Days and three of the numerous Romanian translations.
